About our International Trade Union Confederation (ITUC) news

Latest news on the International Trade Union Confederation (ITUC), a global federation of trade unions representing workers in more than 150 countries. It was founded in 2006 through the merger of the International Confederation of Free Trade Unions (ICFTU) and the World Confederation of Labor (WCL).

The ITUC works to promote and protect the rights of workers around the world, including the right to decent work, the right to organise and bargain collectively, and the right to freedom of association. It also advocates for social justice, gender equality, and sustainable development.

The ITUC represents a diverse range of workers, including those in the private sector, the public sector, and the informal economy. It works with trade unions, employers' organisations, and governments to negotiate and implement policies and agreements that benefit workers.

The ITUC is affiliated with the United Nations and has consultative status with the International Labour Organization (ILO). It also works with other international organisations and civil society groups to promote the rights of workers and advocate for social justice.
