Latest news on the New York Knicks, a professional basketball team based in New York City. The team plays its home games at Madison Square Garden, an arena they share with the New York Rangers of the National Hockey League (NHL). The Knicks were founded in 1946 as one of the original members of the Basketball Association of America (BAA), which later merged with the National Basketball League (NBL) to form the NBA. The Knicks have also won four conference titles (in 1972, 1973, 1994, and 1999) and eight division titles (in 1953, 1954, 1970, 1971, 1989, 1993, 1994, and 2013).

The Knicks are currently led by head coach Tom Thibodeau and general manager Scott Perry. They have retired nine numbers: 10 (Walt Frazier), 12 (Dick Barnett), 15 (Earl Monroe and Dick McGuire), 19 (Willis Reed), 22 (Dave DeBusschere), 24 (Bill Bradley), 33 (Patrick Ewing), and 613 (Red Holzman).
