About our Priscilla Presley news

Latest news on Priscilla Presley, an American businesswoman and actress who was married to the legendary singer Elvis Presley from 1967 to 1973. She is also the co-founder and former chairperson of Elvis Presley Enterprises, the company that manages Graceland, the former home of Elvis. Priscilla Presley has appeared in several films and TV shows, such as the Naked Gun trilogy and Dallas.

Priscilla was born in New York City on May 24, 1945, to a Navy pilot father who died in a plane crash when she was six months old. Her mother remarried a Air Force officer, and Priscilla grew up in various places, including Germany, where she met Elvis in 1959, when she was 14 years old.

Elvis invited Priscilla to visit him in the US, and eventually persuaded her parents to let her move in with him at Graceland in 1963. Priscilla and Elvis married in Las Vegas on May 1, 1967, after a seven-year courtship. They had one daughter, Lisa Marie Presley, who was born on February 1, 1968. Their marriage was troubled by Elvis's infidelity, drug abuse and erratic behavior. Priscilla had affairs of her own, including with her karate instructor Mike Stone.

Priscilla filed for divorce in 1972, which was finalized in 1973. She received a settlement of $725,000, plus monthly spousal and child support. She remained on friendly terms with Elvis until his death in 1977.

Priscilla pursued a career in acting, starring in the TV movie Elvis and Me (1988), based on her autobiography of the same name. She also played Jenna Wade on the soap opera Dallas (1983-1988) and Jane Spencer in the comedy films The Naked Gun: From the Files of Police Squad! (1988), The Naked Gun 2½: The Smell of Fear (1991) and Naked Gun 33⅓: The Final Insult (1994).
